Description: This course will focus on the use of Spanish in the business world. It will be delivered in Spanish with emphasis on speaking and listening skills. Students will learn how to use business greetings, conduct interviews, make telephone conversations, and write memos. Some specific topics include advertising, banking, insurance and Internet terminology. It is strongly recommended that students have completed Spanish V.

Description: Recommended: LANG0110 - Conversational Spanish - Basic. This course will continue to teach basic skills in various aspects of the Spanish language and culture. Emphasis will be placed on developing the skills of listening, reading, speaking, writing and grammar.

LANG1040 Spanish II
Description: Recommended: LANG1030 Spanish I. This Spanish course is designed for students who wish to deepen their understanding of language and culture by further developing their oral communication skills, comprehension of Spanish grammar and ability to read and write in Spanish. This communication-based course will further develop the skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing in Spanish by combining learned elements with more challenging grammar and topics.

Description: Recommended: Lang1040 Spanish II. This advanced Spanish course concentrates on more challenging structures and grammar topics. Emphasis will be placed on grammar, listening, speaking, reading and writing. This course will expand the students' existing vocabulary, understanding, and knowledge of Hispanic culture.

LANG1140 Spanish IV
Description: This course will consolidate the language skills (listening, reading, speaking and writing) acquired in Spanish I to III by incorporating learning techniques that focus on the grammatical, speaking and writing skills by assigning students creative writing assignments related to cultural/literacy readings or personal experiences. Group discussions will be based on topics that are selected by the students at the beginning of the course or topics related to the readings. Group discussions will take place every class to develop oral skills. An individual oral presentation in Spanish will also be required.

LANG1150 Spanish V
Description: This advanced course is designed to continue to develop the language skills and cultural knowledge acquired in Spanish I, II, III and /or IV. Through the reading of authentic materials, the student will acquire new vocabulary, review basic grammar followed by more advanced refinements and continue to develop communication through class discussion on the reading selections and related topics.
