The Internet continues to be a stable growth industry requiring creative and knowledgeable programmers to develop, support, and maintain applications for both internal and external business use. The focus of this program is to provide graduates with the skills and knowledge to meet industries’ need for dynamic, highly-trained individuals. This program will provide you with the skills to be self-motivated, innovative, and productive employees. Web programming is very dynamic and requires you not only to have solid programming skills but also to have strong fundamentals in other areas. These areas include systems analysis, database design, system implementation, server implementation and administration, debugging, and testing and maintenance of code. The program is based on initial development of solid programming fundamentals using the Java programming language. Subsequent topics include PHP, SQL, server side programming, scripting languages, and e-commerce. Students can use the credits from this program to apply for the three-year Computer Programmer Analyst diploma program.
