Description: Recommended: LANG0100 Conversational French - Basic or equivalent. This introductory course continues to cover the basic grammar, sentence structure, vocabulary and short conversations. Students will acquire simple skills of listening, speaking and reading.

Description: Recommended: LANG1050 French I. This intermediate French course is for students who wish to deepen their understanding of the French language and culture by further developing their oral communication skills, their comprehension of French grammar and their ability to read and write in French.

Description: Recommended: LANG1060 French II. As in French I and French II, but at an advanced level, emphasis will be placed on listening, speaking, reading, and writing aspects of the French language in a Canadian setting. Dialogue topic will be selected to concentrate on the conversational aspects of the French language.

LANG1080 French IV
Description: Recommended: LANG1070 French III. This is a course for students who have completed French III or equivalent and who wish to continue to develop their language skills at an advanced level. Authentic French reading selections form the basis for the vocabulary, grammar and conversational topics. The basic grammar of the various tenses and parts of speech to be studied will be quickly reviewed, and then advanced notions will be introduced.

LANG1110 French for Business
Description: Recommended: LANG1080 French IV. This course is an introduction to the use of French in today's business world. All aspects of the language are covered: listening, reading, speaking and writing accurately, including grammar. The course will be taught in French with lots of oral communication. Some general topics include business greeting protocol, conducting interviews, telephone protocol and writing memos. Some specific topics include advertising, banking, insurance and Internet terminology. Students must be prepared to complete weekly assignments and write tests.
