COMM1310 Presentation Skills
Description: This course will teach the skills necessary to professionally plan and deliver a presentation with or without computer generated slide shows, to specific audiences such as managers, salespeople, trainees, shareholders, employees etc. Presentations need to be dynamic, informative, concise and also entertaining. By discussing such topics as voice control, body language, nervousness, audience participation, lighting and equipment, students will learn to be effective and persuasive in getting the message across to achieve a successful positive reaction.

COMP1235 PowerPoint for Business - Advanced Techniques
Description: Recommended: COMP1160 PowerPoint or equivalent knowledge.
This course continues from the basics and will cover more advanced and professional features of Microsoft PowerPoint. Areas of study will include creating an advanced multimedia presentation, adding large digital files such as photographs, videos and sound, charts and diagrams. Learn to use Excel for data presentations and how to link to other Microsoft applications such as Word and Excel.

COMP1495 PowerPoint 2007
Description: Recommended: COMP1150 Computer Literacy for Windows or equivalent knowledge.
This course will cover creating presentations using PowerPoint 2007. Areas of study will include: presentation guidelines, building your presentations, creating outlines, formatting slides, adding graphs, and organizational charts, clipart and special effects. Students will work with embedded objects and multiple presentations. Different methods of presenting output will be discussed.

DSGN1090 Principles of Graphic Design
Description: This course covers principles of design, page layout and comparisons between conventional versus computer generated design. Participants will learn the planning process, creating mock-ups, various design considerations in page and monitor layout, and print technology as it relates to graphic design. Topics covered include: designing with type, graphics, photographs; how to create multi-page publications; elements and principles of typography, and image relationships to effectively communicate visual information through design, as well as theories and practices of interactive graphics. The course is strictly theory and has no computer component.
