Course description
Diploma in Social Services Worker Recovery Specialist
The Social Services Worker Recovery Specialist program at Vancouver Career College provides students with the background they need to enter the rewarding social services field. Graduates have specialized in helping people in addictions recovery and can find employment in a number of areas including drug and alcohol treatment facilities, correctional facilities, group homes, aboriginal agencies and other community service facilities. If you’re looking for a career that makes a difference, the Social Services Worker Recovery Specialist program can help you get there.
Practicum Placement and Career Services
All Vancouver Career College programs include practicum placements that allow students to test their newly developed skills and knowledge in a job setting. Working in the field, under the supervision of an independent practicum host, practicum students learn to apply theory to practice, demonstrate their skill development and gain experience on the job.
Practicum placements may lead to permanent employment following the completion of the program or, in some cases, prior to graduation.
The Career Services department at Vancouver Career College is an excellent resource for those conducting job searches, offering résumé assistance, job postings and interview prep support to students, grads and alumni.
