Objectives
The Sheet Metal Technician program provides you with an opportunity to earn dual certificates in Sheet Metal Foundation (formerly Entry Level Training) and Aircraft Structural Technician Foundation (formerly Entry Level Training). You’ll work through a six month long program divided into three parts: Common Core (tools, equipment, procedures and processes common to both industries), Sheet Metal Specialty and Aircraft Structural Specialty. Studying in close cooperation with Camosun instructors, you’ll acquire the skills, knowledge and competencies you’ll need in your subsequent career as a sheet metal worker, aircraft structural technician, or sheet metal manufacturing worker. You’ll also have the skills necessary to continue an apprenticeship. Viking Air planes: many Sheet Metal grads are working for Viking Air. As a graduate of the Sheet Metal Technician program, you’ll be able to seek entry-level positions in the construction, sheet metal, sheet metal manufacturing and aircraft structural industries.
