Course description
This certificate can be completed with an emphasis in one of the following: Community Intervention, Health Promotion, Organizational Leadership.
Note: Interpersonal Communication and Relationships (AHSC 230), Working in Task Groups (AHSC 232), and Introduction to Intervention in Human Systems (AHSC 270) are prerequisite courses for this Certificate.
* 15 required credits in Applied Human Sciences: Interviewing; Program Planning, Design and Evaluation; Principles and Practices of Human Systems Intervention; and Leadership in Small Groups
* 6 credits in Applied Human Sciences chosen from Organization Development I & II or Community Development I & II; or Health Promotion
* 9 elective credits in Applied Human Sciences chosen from Life Span Growth and Development for Practitioners; Self-Managed Learning; Respecting Diversity in Human Relations; Adolescence: Issues and Intervention; Adulthood: Patterns and Transitions; Older Adulthood: Issues and Intervention; Leisure and the Environment; Power and Conflict Resolution in Human Systems; Community Recreation Planning; Organizational Leadership: A Human Systems Approach; Youth and Leisure; The Older Adult and Leisure.
