* 12 elective credits in Introductory Hebrew Language or Studies in Hebrew Texts (Students who demonstrate fluency in Hebrew by a written examination may substitute religion courses at the intermediate or advanced level approved by the departmental advisor.)
* 6 elective credits in introductory level Religious Imagination and Religion in Practice, or Religions of the West and Religions of Asia
* 3 required credits in Introduction to Judaism
* 9 elective credits at the intermediate level in Biblical Studies I: the Hebrew Bible, Ancient Judaism, Medieval Jewish Thought and Institutions, Modern Judaism
