Objectives
The criminology and criminal justice program is a multi-disciplinary approach to understanding the complex nature of criminal justice issues that incorporates components of Law, Psychology and Sociology.

Practical experience
The Field Placement option is offered at the third year level to the top 80 applicants based on an average of the marks received in their first and second year required courses [first year: PSYC 1001 AND PSYC 1002; SOCI 1001 AND SOCI 1002 AND LAWS 1000 and second year: PSYC 2400; SOCI 2445 and SOCI 2450 and LAWS 2004]. The placement is supplemented by a seminar course, which allows opportunities to share field placement experiences, discuss current criminal justice issues and learn from guest speakers with expertise in various areas of the criminal justice system.
