Canada's premier polytechnic trains computer network managers, railroad conductors, technicians able to scan brains, sound engineers able to run a radio station, accountants, pipefitters, airline pilots and shop teachers, acute care nurses and food packaging specialists.  

Today, that is the way to fulfill BCIT's  vision, mission, and mandate . Tomorrow, business and industry will have new requirements, and the seven schools of BCIT will graduate skilled people who meet them.

BCIT's policies have been set by a Board of Governors  since the BCIT Act empowered a board in 1974. The instruction given at its  five campuses and other facilities is overseen by an  Education Council .
