Office Administration - Medical Ontario College Diploma
ObjectivesIn the Medical option, students learn word processing techniques as well as computerized OHIP billing, computerized hospital information systems and webpage design and management. This option also provides students with a variety of skills to achieve good professional standing as a medical secretary, transcriptionist, receptionist, or ward clerk or unit clerk in a doctor's office, hospital or medical health clinic. Students learn to complete the paperwork required to process patients through the medical office and hospital stay. As well, students learn about a variety of reports, letters and forms, as well as dicta transcription of doctors' orders, histories and physicals, operative reports, and patient information.
Practical experienceThere is a field placement component associated with this program.
