Course description
The standard stream for the Master's degree will consist of 5F01, four half-courses (electives), and a major research paper of approximately 35 pages. The normal completion time is twelve months (three terms). There will also be a thesis stream which students may apply to enter at the end of their first term of graduate work in the program. Normal completion time for those students approved to proceed in the thesis stream will be twenty months (five terms).

Exceptionally, and with permission of the Graduate Committee, students in the program may be able to take (i) a 500-level course from another Brock graduate program (ii) a graduate History course from another Ontario university, (iii) a reading course in lieu of an elective or (iv) a 400-level course in the Brock History department, with additional assignments to bring it to the required level. All subject to OCGS guidelines.
