Key areas of research interest in the Department are operations research modelling, mathematical optimization, production planning and control, modelling of economic systems, queueing theory, vehicle and crew scheduling, industrial ergonomics and work place design. Applications are primarily selected in the resource base industries of forestry, fishing and mining as well as the smaller sized local business.
