Course descriptionSault College's Hairstyling - Hairstyling program can give you the skills necessary to be successful in this creative, exciting, and artistic field.
Hairstyling students study and train in our fully-equipped, modern salon under the guidance of experienced, knowledgeable faculty. Students access many on-campus services including the special needs office, counselling department, library, gym and fitness centre, health centre, and employment services.
The Hairstyling program runs from August to August. Following successful completion of the 1500 hours of in-school training, graduates are eligible for entrance into a 2000 hour in-salon apprenticeship term. Completion of the apprenticeship term qualifies students to write the provincial certificate of qualification examination. Successful completion of the exam and satisfaction of license requirements allow students to obtain their Hairstylist license.
In addition to acquiring fundamental hairstyling skills, students develop high standards of professionalism, problem-solving skills, communication skills, and high safety sanitation standards.
