ObjectivesThe in-school part of this apprenticeship training consists of three sessions of eight weeks each, given at the basic, intermediate and advanced levels. This training is in accordance with the guidelines of the Ministry of Education and Training, Apprenticeship Training Branch
Topics to be studied in this course include lathes, mills, metallurgy, metrology, and other basic machine tools.
Semester 2
# GMA0200 - 032 - Inter. Occupational Calculations
Topics covered in this course included heat-treating, CNC, grinding, lathes, mills, and other intermediate level topics.
Semester 3
# GMA0300 - 032 - Advanced Occupational Calculations
Students will complete the advanced level of Occupational Calculations In-School portion as prescribed by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities by reviewing and practicing machining related calculations using shop formulas, right angle and oblique triangle trigonometry.
# GMA0310 - 036 - Advanced Engineering Drawings
Students will complete the advanced level of engineering drawings In-School portion as prescribed by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities by interpreting part drawings, terminologies, symbols, proper conventions, projections, section views and geometric tolerances.
Topics covered in this course include angular/differential indexing, cam milling, indexing for worm and worm gears, rules and formulas for module helical gearing, SI calculation, multi-start machine threading, and NC programming and operation.
