This course is designed to introduce international students in the
INDS-3005 - Global Issues
The course is designed to introduce international students in the GAS3 program to a wide range of important global issues in areas such as culture, ethics and human rights, economics, and social institutions. Through the exploration of these topics, students will continue to develop academic reading, writing, research, and oral skills in English.
PSYC-1056 - Cross-Cultural Perspectives
Cross-Cultural Perspectives is a general psychology course, which highlights the cross-cultural perspective of psychology. One of the goals of this course is to increase an understanding of similarities and differences among the peoples of the world by looking at both traditional and modern cultures. Through a series of readings, students will be exposed to other cultures so as to break down ethnocentric thinking and cultural stereotypes as well as to examine and understand how “human nature” is affected by socialization processes and life circumstances.
WRIT-1034 - Reason & Writing 1 - EAP
This course will introduce students whose first language is not English to essential principles of reading, writing, and reasoning at the postsecondary level. Students will identify, summarize, analyze, and evaluate multiple short readings and write persuasive response essays to develop their vocabulary, comprehension, grammar, and critical thinking. Special attention will also be paid to developing academic vocabulary, correcting common ESL errors, enhancing academic listening and note-taking skills, and improving oral fluency and confidence.
WRIT-3002 - Reason & Writing 2
This course will develop and refine critical reading, writing and reasoning skills. Students will analyse and evaluate various written sources, conduct research, produce advanced academic writing, and enhance argumentation and communication strategies.

This course will develop and refine criticalreading, writing and reasoning skills.
