Fundraising Practitioner Ontario College Certificate
ObjectivesThis certificate will provide the graduate with the knowledge and skills required to design and successfully implement appropriate fundraising plans for organizations within the highly competitive environment of Ontario. The five major components of the program are: organizational readiness, prospect identification and cultivation, solicitation, donor recognition and stewardship, and applied research in fundraising. Graduates will also acquire skills in planning, communication, public relations, time management, database management, and volunteer relations.

Course descriptionFUND1050 Practical Investigation Of Fundraising
Description: Under the guidance of approved faculty, the student will develop and implement an independent investigation of practical research in development. The process will include problem identification, background literature review, steps in measurement, data collection and analysis, findings, and conclusions. Faculty will assist the student throughout the process.

FUND1060 Fundraising-Implementing the Plan and Leadership
Description: The difference between effective and ineffective fundraising often depends upon the readiness of the staff/volunteers and the organization. This course starts from the basics, covering all aspects of fundraising including annual giving, major gifts, capital campaigns and planned giving. We continue with "best practices", creating the environment for success, policy & procedural considerations, analysis, staff & volunteer roles. This course includes 20 hours of approved volunteering in a fundraising capacity or the equivalent written submission.

FUND1070 Trends and Stewardship
Description: We will examine changes that have occurred in fundraising in Ontario and Canada. These changes have an enormous impact on potential fundraising. Topics include: building effective donor based programs, recognition and stewardship, history and evolution of fundraising and imminent future trends. This course also includes 20 hours of approved volunteering or the equivalent written submission.
