This intensive 20-hour per week course provides students with advanced language skills to the College Academic English Preparatory Level II. It includes reading (relating reading to own knowledge, determining accuracy of information), vocabulary building (expanding vocabulary recognition skills, context clue knowledge, making inferences), grammar (accurate and appropriate use of structures), writing (complex sentences, paragraphs and essays), listening (lectures, note taking, oral presentations), speaking (handling complicated tasks and social situations, discussions, narration techniques, debates), and pronunciation (pause fillers, rate of speech, improving diction).
