ObjectivesThe Early Learning and Child Care (ELCC) program at Bow Valley College is designed to provide learners with a combination of practical skills and theoretical knowledge to enable them to provide high quality developmentally appropriate care to young children. The diploma year focuses on linking theory to practice while continuing the development of research and writing skills relevant to early learning and child care providers who are able to supervise a program.
The Early Learning and Child Care Diploma program prepares you to work in child care settings with young children and families as a frontline caregiver or as a supervisor. Completion of the diploma program qualifies you to apply for Child Development Supervisor certification with Alberta Children and Youth Services.
