In this program, you’ll focus on learning techniques used in both traditional and computer graphic design, including drawing, design, colour theory and typography, as well as the standard software used in the industry. You’ll learn to design for publications, packaging, advertising, corporate branding and websites. Career opportunities exist in a wide variety of fields, including graphic design firms, marketing agencies and advertising companies. Magazines, newspapers, professional printers and web development companies also require graphic designers. Event promotions and planning services may also employ graphic designers.

The Edmonton West campus is located in Mayfield Common Shopping Centre in the residential neighbourhood of Mayfield. With several parks within walking distance from the college, students will find ample opportunity to head out for a stroll or a short study break between classes.
After class, students will be able to search for the latest fashions and great bargains in the stores at Mayfield Common. They can also pick up something quick to eat at a nearby fast food place or sit down for a meal in one of the shopping centre’s restaurants. Bank, supermarkets, hair salons, and several health care services are also located in the mall.
