Court & Tribunal Agent Ontario College Graduate Certificate
ObjectivesThis program is designed to provide students with the specialized knowledge and skills required to work as court and tribunal agents and/or as paralegals. It is designed for those seeking licensing under the Law Society of Upper Canada as a practicing paralegal who wish to upgrade their skills and broaden their areas of knowledge and expertise in authorized areas of practice. The intent of the program is to produce graduates who will meet the rigorous standards of legislation, which provides for the LSUC to be the governing body for paralegals in Ontario. Upon completion of this program, graduates should be well prepared for the licensing examinations, which are mandatory to be a practicing paralegal in Ontario.
Practical experienceAn extensive field training component that is approved by the Public Services Commission of Canada gives students the opportunity to gain practical hands on experience in a legal environment. Students will spend 120 hours in their second semester in a field placement.
