ObjectivesLearn the technical and creative aspects of costuming for both theatre and film in this 30-week, full-time certificate program. Developed in collaboration with the motion picture industry, this certificate program is unique in B.C. and Canada in that it offers a motion picture costuming component in addition to theatre costuming. The program covers costume history, textiles, wardrobe management, cutting and construction techniques.
Practical experienceThe program includes hands-on experience working on University theatre productions and student film projects.

This course focuses on the functions of a production costume shop. The primary focus will be on standard techniques and procedures in costume cutting and construction techniques in both the theatre and industries.

This course continues instruction in the techniques and procedures of a professional costume shop.
