1.0 credit in one of Introduction to Canadian History (HIST 1300), Canadian Political History (HIST 2303), Canadian Social History (HIST 2304), or Canadian Economic History (HIST 2305)
1.0 credit in Canadian Political Environment (PSCI 2002) and Canadian Political Institutions (PSCI 2003)
0.5 credit in Canadian Public Administration (PSCI 3401)
1.5 credits chosen in consultation with the Director of the School of Public Policy and Administration, according to the needs of the student.
Candidates for the Certificate must obtain a grade of C or better in at least half of the credits taken at Carleton University for the Certificate. The basic admission requirement for the Certificate in Public Service Studies is the completion of the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent, with an overall average of 60 per cent or better on the six best 4 U/M courses. Special consideration will be extended to other applicants under the Mature Applicant regulations. Candidates may be admitted with advanced standing, but must complete at least four of the required credits at Carleton to obtain the Certificate. Students who have completed an undergraduate degree are not eligible for admission to this program.
