ObjectivesThis apprenticeship certificate program is designed to provide auto body apprentices with an understanding of the ever-changing automotive technology field and with the skills necessary to use state-of-the-art equipment to repair damaged vehicles properly and profitably. The in-school portion of the program provides for three 8-week levels at Algonquin College, during which students attend classes 30 hours per week. During the basic, intermediate and advanced levels, students learn about many types of body construction and repair techniques and refinishing procedures. Sixty per cent of class time is spent in theory and forty per cent learning practical, hands-on skills.
