Cabinetmaking - Manufacturing Technician - Wood Products Ontario College Certificate
ObjectivesBecome a skilled woodworker and cabinetmaker by enrolling in the Manufacturing Technician/Techniques - Wood Products certificate and diploma programs. These programs will train you to manufacture home and office furniture, store fixtures, cabinetry, architectural millwork and other associated wood products. Major topics include: * Selection and use of solid wood, veneers, and other materials * Reading and interpreting blueprints * Preparing sketches and shop drawings * Costing out projects * Use and maintenance of hand and power tools * Preparation of cutting lists and material requisitions * Design and construction of residential and commercial furniture and fixtures Other areas to be covered include the design and construction of kitchen and bathroom cabinets, and preparation and application of various types of finishing materials.
