ObjectivesThe Department of Economics equips students with the technical knowledge needed to understand economic concepts and policy. Classes are small, even at the introductory level, and tutorial support is provided in key areas for new students. At the upper levels, we offer a wide array of applied courses building on economic theory. Statistical and mathematical methods are emphasized, as is the development of analytical and communication skills. By blending theory with application, students enhance both their analytic and communication skills while developing their economic intuition.
Practical experienceThere is also an option co-op for the Honours program.
